My Disney Marathon….

December 2, 2008 – 11:09pm

Ha, I’ve had some emails come in saying that they would understand if I didn’t post a blog tonight because I must be tired and “zonked” from running around Disney all day. I can’t believe I’m still awake, but thanks to all that sugar and caffeine, you’ve got something to read tonight and, oh boy, do I have a story to tell ya!

I arrived at Disney at 8:50am and Disney opened at 9am.

Right on time. I wasn’t going to miss a minute of what Disney had to offer! I took the ferry over to Magic Kingdom to start my day off. Oh, just to let you know, I hoofed all around Disney all day long by myself, no one was with me all day, so I did cover alot of ground. Ready to keep up with me? Good. Arriving at Magic Kingdom, I walked down Main Street and took some photos of the castle…..

I ran across Pluto who was always willing to get his picture taken….

At the castle the Mr. and Mrs. showed their gratuity for all their guests….

They had a little parade on Main Street in Magic Kingdom…..

I spent about three hours at Magic Kingdom. Rode on four or five rides, had a great time and left to explore other parts of Disney. Next stop “Disney’s Hollywood Studios”. This is not called “MGM” any longer. We had it all explained to us on the bus over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios not to call it “MGM” any more. Thank you Mr. Bus Driver…..

I found these two roaming around the park….

Time for some food, so I stopped at the Pizza Planet Refueling Station for some pizza. It wasn’t too bad. Yummmmm. Topped with a soda and good to go again!

One more picture of some extra large action figures at MG-, oops, Disney’s Hollywood Studios….

Now over to Epcot for the evening for some International culture. Oh, I love Epcot!

Too Cool. They had the “Segway Experience” and everyone could try a free ride on a Segway. Like a demo ride. I did it. Thankfully no one took my picture, I’m so better off with my feet on the ground. Realistically, it wasn’t too bad, you need alot of confidence that machine to get it to go the way you want it to. Lean forward to go forward, tip back to go backwards, and it spins on a dime when you bring down one of the handle bars. Neat, everyone should try this gadget out!

I hopped over to the World Showcase for some International culture exposure. 11 countries to explore and appreciate. I found Santa in Norway, of course he was with the pretty Norwegian girls…..

But that was my day today. Basically, I found Nemo in the ride “Finding Nemo”, learned to live with the Land in the ride “The Land”, refueled at Pizza Planet, munched on popcorn, and took advantage of the short lines in many other rides. A successful day? Yes, indeed. Was I a big kid today? Yes, I was. But, hell broke loose inside of me when Disney closed. I thought to myself “What?? Where did the time go??” But the magic doesn’t close and imagination doesn’t close, why does Disney have to close?? I left the park heartbroken. But, wait a minute, you didn’t think I was going to end my day just like that, did you?

No way!!!! I took the bus to Downtown Disney to do a little shopping. I told you my camera was not user-friendly at night.

So, anyways, I arrived at Downtown Disney and walked around wondering when the heck the temperature dropped so much. It was 48 degrees at 10pm, but a die-hard Disney fan doesn’t feel the bone-chilling temperature outside. Okay, I don’t want anyone from up north to email me saying to come up there if I want to really know what cold is right about now. No, thanks. I’m cold enough as it is. So my Disney Marathon lasted from 9am to 10pm, hmmmmmm, that’s 13 hours inside Disney World and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! :) Now, where did I put my Tylenol pain killers to ease the soreness of my poor feet. I’m off to bed now with that song still stuck in my head, “It’s a small world after all. It’s a small world after all. It’s a small world after all. It’s a small, small world…..”
