Fleetwood and Pet Safety….
Jan 3, 2009 – 2:45pm
Hello! We are going to hit a few different topics in this blog entry so hang on tight. Ready? First off, I want to say that the beef stew we made this morning was the best!! We mixed a tiny bit in with Jake’s food so he could enjoy the delicious taste of the beef stew with his dog food. He eats only hard food due to permanent doctor’s orders, he doesn’t eat any soft package food. He just can’t digest it. His doctor at Raymond Animal Hospital where he faithfully goes for everything, told me after countless pricey test results that he has food allergies and he can not digest protein so he’s on a special HQ Allegic hard food, but we mix a tiny tiny bit of flavor in with it when we get the chance. It’s nice not to always eat the same old food all the time, and with Jake, we do that every so often to remind him and everyone else how spoiled he really is. So, after we all ate some of the homemade beef stew for lunch today, look how much is left……

Now THAT’S RV living…..Doesn’t that look so good. It tastes great too!! We made enough to last a few days – no more restaurant eating for a while!! So other than that, today is a relaxing today, we will go out tonight for some exercise – hee hee – sitting in front of the slot machine hitting the “Spin” button is now my version of exercising!! Hey, it’s my trip and I’ll exercise however way I want to
So I was reading online today about “As new year starts Fleetwood faces new challenges”. The life line doesn’t look good for Fleetwood RV which hopefully will not follow a stream of other RV manufacturers that has closed their doors, such as Alfa Leisure in April of 2008 (click here for the Alfa Leisure story). Andrew Crean’s statement, son of founder of Fleetwood John Crean, says it all when he said ” it wouldn’t be long until Fleetwood is no more or bought for next to nothing”. He also goes to say that “the only thing of value is the company’s network of dealers and its recognizable brands”. If you want to read the rest of the story, click here. And then on the flip side of the coin we have the federal commission considering a 50 percent increase in fuel tax. Why? Because since we have found ways to reduce our fuel consumption by car pooling, driving smaller and more fuel efficient cars, walking and riding bicycles, they see a growing revenue shortfall in the program that funds highway repairs and construction. And so of course someone has to pay for this……in steps our new proposed fuel tax. In this proposed fuel tax, gasoline tax will be raised by 10 cents per gallon and diesel tax will go up 12 to 15 cents per gallon. Click here to read more about this. This is just talk right now and could turn from talk to tax unless the government devises other ways for motorists to pay for using public road. In my eyes this is another example of “no good deed goes unpunished”. Sigh. Now, let’s move on to another subject I wanted to touch on. In yesterdays blog entry, I wrote about Jake and hinted that RVing with pets can be fun! Well, I put this piece together today for you to enjoy about RVing with pets - RVing With Pets – 10 Commandments - and for you to see my creative side!! Well, I hope you enjoyed this blog entry like all the rest of them and it’s about that time to hit the slot machines up for some money. Tonight we are off to Boulder Station Casino and maybe one more casino after that for this evening. It all depends on our luck at Boulder Station Casino if we are moving on to another casino tonight or not. Check back soon to find out what else we are up to! Thanks for checking on me and, hey, go enjoy your weekend!!
