It’s Jake’s Birthday (Jan 10th) – Happy Birthday Buddy!

Hey There! Welcome to the weekend! We walked around the Fashion Show Mall today on the Las Vegas strip. They were having a fashion show (go figure – smile)! Got a few pictures. The fashion show stage comes right out of the floor, so neat…….

 

We also visited Treasure Island Hotel and Casino (website here) and the Mirage Hotel and Casino (website here). I did awful at the Mirage, think I wasted away over 80 bucks in that casino and came out with no profit…..

On the way back to the RV, we stopped at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino (website here) and I put five bucks into a Double Diamond Deluxe slot machine and, on the second spin, $243.00 bucks! Wow, just like that! Is it luck or what? Yeah, it gotta be luck!! Tonight we are off to the Hilton just off the Las Vegas strip and we are going to the Rio Hotel and Casino (off the Las Vegas strip – website here). You can get there by the Duece bus. The Rio is one big party!! I like that Casino alot. But, other than that, it was windy out today, but pretty warm. I don’t have too much to talk about today. Jake’s birthday is Saturday (today, by the time you read this), he’s 7 years old. I have my WordPress convention on Saturday and Sunday, and we have friends flying in from Colorado tomorrow. So I hope everyone has a great weekend, it’s your time, enjoy it!

Tour of Las Vegas (Part 2)

Hi! We took to the downtown area today (Las Vegas Boulevard) and walked around sight seeing. Got some great pictures today…..

First we went to visit the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino (website here)

We walked into the Monte Carlo when it was light out and walked out when it was dark out. That should tell you how long we were in there for – hee hee……

Across the street from the Monte Carlo is Coca-Cola World (and remember M&M World), today we visited Coca-Cola World……..

You can now (not sure what they called it) shrink-wrap your own Coca-Cola bottle with colorful shrink-wrap sheets. Pretty neat, they have a little machine that does it for you……

I want to take them all home with me…….

I took this picture because I wanted to show you the construction on the Las Vegas Boulevard. They are (as of this past Monday) taking applications for job openings for over 12,000 job positions in Las Vegas (several different casinos). Everyone in Las Vegas is ecstatic!! And they can start work in September.

So, that’s what we did today! We have a big weekend coming up! I have a blogging conference to go to that WordPress is putting on. I have specific questions about their software and I’m curious to listen to their conference classes. That will be Saturday and Sunday. I’m already registered and ready to go. Then, more importantly, we have friends in Colorado coming to see us, Todd and Christine!! Well, they aren’t coming to see US. They are here to see Las Vegas, but we are going to see them! And why is this exciting to me?? Because I haven’t seen Christine in…..gosh, it’s got to be about 20 years!! And Todd, I don’t think I’ve ever met him at all! I’m going to be so happy to see them and they’ve never been to Las Vegas – Ohhhhhh, they’ve got sooo much to see!!! My only advice to them (and everyone else coming to Vegas) is bring good sneakers! And I checked the weather tonight and it will be about 62 degrees for this weekend and into the beginning of next week! They couldn’t of planned for better weather to see Vegas. Other than that, don’t forget Jake’s birthday is coming up on Saturday too. So, big weekend for us coming up. Other than that, just going to watch some TV tonight and relax. I’ll post another blog entry tomorrow! Have a good day!
