When in Rome…..
January 22, 2009 – 10:00pm
This is going to be short, sweet and to the point!
You know that old saying “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”. Well…..I applied that saying to my day today. This park is full of active seniors, they don’t have any place to be, and they have a grand time making the most of their day. That’s their job. They stay busy doing anything that puts a smile on their face. So, you want to know what I did today? This morning I sat outside in my lawn chair from 10am to about noon time watching people ride their bicycles by, some were walking their dog, some people even stopped by and small talked with us…..we all just relaxed outside. About noon time we drove the whole 1/2 mile down the street to the Kentucky Fried Chicken. They have a buffet with a price of $7.99, yummy! I’ve never seen a KFC that offers a buffet back home…..so we ate lunch there and came back to the RV Park and I took out my roller blades. Remember I mentioned that there was a walking track next door, well, I pulled out my roller blades and grabbed Jake’s leash. Jake beat me to the door. So Jake and I went down to the walking track next door and we did a couple of laps around the track. Jake has got to get into better shape than he is, he’s turned so lazy since we left (okay, okay, I’ll admit it, maybe I have too *big smile*). The fresh air and exercise was good for him. Back at the RV again, we took about 50 oranges that we had picked yesterday and made a gallon of pure fresh orange juice. I love that little electic juicer, that alone makes life easier. It didn’t take long to make a gallon of orange juice, just about 20 minutes. After that was done and we found a place for it in the refrigerator, we put on our bathing suits and headed over to the pool for a swim around 6pm. I don’t swim, I don’t how to swim, so the 3 foot deep section was perfect for me. I’m sure Jake appreciated the peace and quiet to get some shut eye in the RV. We stayed in the pool for about 45 minutes. After that we came back to the RV, cleaned up and changed and took off to the Cocopah Casino. The Cocopah Casino is 7 miles from this RV Park. At the Cocopah Casino, my $45 dollars turned into $123.00. I’m not kidding, I couldn’t believe it either! Woo-Hoo! Just before we left the casino we took advantage of their dessert buffet for a steal of $3.00. Three bucks, can you believe it? 1-2-3….Three bucks for all the dessert you can eat. Hey, seniors count their pennies and I’m learning from everyone here. I’m all over a good deal when I see one! Hey, you haven’t see anything yet, wait until we hit the flea market this weekend…..when I find a good deal, get out of my way!
And I realized one more thing from today…..I’m going to have to spend more time in the pool if I’m going to hang out at buffets all day *smile*. Well, we just returned from the casino and we are now watching “The Man” on TV. That’s a oldie but goodie movie, maybe that’s why it’s taking so long for me to finish this blog posting. I’m kinda distracted with the movie. Hee Hee. So we had an eventful day today and you know something……I think I’m going to do the exact same thing tomorrow!
