Yuma’s Lettuce Festival

Hello! We made the most of the good weather we had today and attended the Lettuce Festival in the old part of Yuma. There’s an old Yuma and a new Yuma. Our RV Park is in the new Yuma and the old Yuma is not far from us…..probably about 3 or 4 miles, that’s it. I know this because when we left the Lettuce Festival to go back to the RV Park, I had punched in the RV Park name into our GPS to find the easiest way back and it said that it is 3.4 miles away. So, we stayed there for a while, it wasn’t that big of a festival, we stayed for a little over an hour. It was just a closed down street with vendor tents and they were selling all sorts of fresh lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, artichokes, asparagus, oh, and so much more! They had some entertainment….a one man band and kids rides. It was neat, but not really a big deal. Glad I saw it. Got some pictures for ya…..

Well, that is what we did in the morning. In the afternoon we stayed at the RV Park and enjoyed some of their planned activities here. They had a “Jam Session”, hey, that’s what it’s called on the activities schedule here. So we went and we saw alot of the RV Park tenants playing musical instruments together. Good old time songs. It was alot of people there, a whole recreational hall full. So we stayed to enjoy the music and then I took Jake out for a walk and we just relaxed by the TV for the evening. A simple day with plenty to see. I’m not sure what we are doing tomorrow, but we are trying to avoid going to Mexico on a Sunday, that’s just a little too much “weekend people” for me. We are going to visit Mexico on Monday or Tuesday. You know what I love about living in a RV in “retirement” mode is that we don’t have a schedule to go by or anywhere to be at anytime of the day. So you have to check back tomorrow to see what we do tomorrow. Well, you don’t HAVE to, but it sure would be nice of you! Good night.
