You are going to figure out real quick that I like to talk….and sometimes, I like to talk alot. You already know that?? Ohh…….well, don’t say I didn’t warn ya……Oh, and again, this blog segment has alot of pictures so give it a few seconds to show up…..thanks!
With beautiful weather today, we spent most of the day outside. Started my day late (on purpose, slept late) and my first activity of the day was to take Jake for a long walk around the RV Park. We had friends coming over today around 4pm so we can all together go to the Old Yuma section of downtown and enjoy a visit to a legendary restaurant called “Lutes Casino”. Noooo, this is not an actual casino (hey, when I heard the word “casino” my heart skipped a beat too), but I heard it use to be a casino type place, but is now a restaurant. Here’s the website, you have to check out the website, it’s so interesting – Lutes Casino. This is right on Main Street in the old downtown of Yuma.
Lutes Casino is located at 221 S. Main Street, Yuma, AZ 85364 incase you are in the area and you want to punch it into your nifty GPS gizmo. I would highly recommend you put this place on your list of pit stops if you are passing thru Yuma. It’s not far off I-8 at all. Go ahead and put it in the GPS and look….it’s right off the highway. I will definitely be going back to this place before I leave Yuma.
Okay, I’ll tell ya why…..it is the most enjoyable social atmosphere inside a……just a hole in the wall restaurant. And there’s a big bar there but there are no TVs so it’s not a loud place at all. We all enjoyed our conversation at a normal conversation tone. I mention this because when you walk into this place, it may “look” like a bit of a rowdy place, but it’s not at all. The waitress was great and fun to talk to. And the food…..oh, the food…how much time do you have, I could go on and on about the food to you. The food was delicious.
Oh, Lutes is famous for their hamburgers and that’s what we all had and my dad, well, he had the Lutes special combination plate. This is a hamburger with slices of hot dogs inside of it. Cut a hot dog length-wise (in 1/2) and put those two pieces on a hamburger and put it all in a hamburger bun. It was interesting, I’ve never seen anything like that before and he loved it. Okay, I’ll stop talking now….it’s that time again…..pictures!!!!!

Lutes Casino (restaurant) is on the same street that Yuma has their Lettuce Days Festival we went to. I have a blog about it if you flip back a few in my blog, you can read about Lettuce Days Festival. Anyways, moving on……
\
Lutes Casino claims to have the best hamburgers in town and, boy, do they live up to it. Delicious hamburgers…..

Inside Lutes Casino…..

Check out the ceiling……..

Look a little closer at the ceiling…….

There’s all kinds of stuff hanging around…….

The Answer Box!!! This is the napkin dispenser on our table. No, you don’t pay for your napkins, that crossed my mind too. There plenty of napkins you can grab from the side of this gizmo. You put a penny in the slot on the top and pull the level down and it will answer any question you have. The answer comes up in that “Answer Here” window. Pretty neat toy…….

It works like a slot machine, you pull the level down and the window opens to reveal a spinning reel that stops on an answer…..it was the closes thing they had to a slot machine, so of course, I emptied the change in my pocket and nearly broke the darn thing……

Lucky we ate there when we did – look at the line waiting to get in. This many people can’t be wrong, it really is a great place to eat……The Answer box device doesn’t work on table 32 anymore so try to sit at another table when you come here, sorry…….

When we came out of Lutes Casino there was a car show going on right out side. We stay for a couple of hours looking around. Yep, got some pictures…….

This was a pretty good picture of this old truck. I tried to take a picture of this truck during the daylight but there was so many people around it looking at it. So I took it at night, then I took some of it during the daylight too and mixed it up for ya to see everything……

After we left the car show, we stopped by Paradise Casino. You knew that, did you?? We stayed at the casino from 7pm to 9pm and witness a Jackpot Winner Moment. There’s a Wheel Of Fortune quarter machine that has a bonus spin wheel on top. If you have been in a casino as much as I have lately, you already know which one I’m talking about. The maximum bet on this slot machine is 3 quarters. The guy played on it for a while and hit it. The three “Wheel Of Fortune” symbols came up with his max bet. I’m sure he’s a happy camper and $143,000 dollars richer!!
I couldn’t believe it. I was trying to think where the heck was I when he hit the jackpot and if it was really that important for me to be there instead of right here playing this stupid machine. Nooooo, I had to play the penny machine where I kept winning 50 cents at a time…..Figures…….Well, good for him, I’m happy for him, maybe he could of bought the house Margaritas! That’s what I would of done if I hit the jackpot. Everyone gets a Margarita!!!! Well….someday….anyways, I’m okay…moving on. I took pictures on what I bought in Mexico, remember I promised yesterday I would add that in today’s blog. I bought a Kokopelli bracelet which I love……..

And I bought a Kokopelli wind jacket. It’s a light jacket and I love the Kokopelli……

Remember that long walk I took with Jake this morning. We got back to the RV and while I was taking pictures of what I bought in Mexico, he was falling asleep on me……

Out like a light. Which right about now, I should be doing too. Hope you enjoyed all the pictures and tomorrow we are going to……okay, I’ll give you a hint……it’s in southern California and it’s Leonard Knight’s creation. Stay tuned……
