Lutes Casino And A Car Show

January 30, 2009 – 11:12pm

You are going to figure out real quick that I like to talk….and sometimes, I like to talk alot. You already know that?? Ohh…….well, don’t say I didn’t warn ya……Oh, and again, this blog segment has alot of pictures so give it a few seconds to show up…..thanks!

With beautiful weather today, we spent most of the day outside. Started my day late (on purpose, slept late) and my first activity of the day was to take Jake for a long walk around the RV Park. We had friends coming over today around 4pm so we can all together go to the Old Yuma section of downtown and enjoy a visit to a legendary restaurant called “Lutes Casino”. Noooo, this is not an actual casino (hey, when I heard the word “casino” my heart skipped a beat too), but I heard it use to be a casino type place, but is now a restaurant. Here’s the website, you have to check out the website, it’s so interesting – Lutes Casino. This is right on Main Street in the old downtown of Yuma.

Lutes Casino is located at 221 S. Main Street, Yuma, AZ 85364 incase you are in the area and you want to punch it into your nifty GPS gizmo. I would highly recommend you put this place on your list of pit stops if you are passing thru Yuma. It’s not far off I-8 at all. Go ahead and put it in the GPS and look….it’s right off the highway. I will definitely be going back to this place before I leave Yuma.

Okay, I’ll tell ya why…..it is the most enjoyable social atmosphere inside a……just a hole in the wall restaurant. And there’s a big bar there but there are no TVs so it’s not a loud place at all. We all enjoyed our conversation at a normal conversation tone. I mention this because when you walk into this place, it may “look” like a bit of a rowdy place, but it’s not at all. The waitress was great and fun to talk to. And the food…..oh, the food…how much time do you have, I could go on and on about the food to you. The food was delicious.

Oh, Lutes is famous for their hamburgers and that’s what we all had and my dad, well, he had the Lutes special combination plate. This is a hamburger with slices of hot dogs inside of it. Cut a hot dog length-wise (in 1/2) and put those two pieces on a hamburger and put it all in a hamburger bun. It was interesting, I’ve never seen anything like that before and he loved it. Okay, I’ll stop talking now….it’s that time again…..pictures!!!!! 🙂

Lutes Casino (restaurant) is on the same street that Yuma has their Lettuce Days Festival we went to. I have a blog about it if you flip back a few in my blog, you can read about Lettuce Days Festival. Anyways, moving on……

\

Lutes Casino claims to have the best hamburgers in town and, boy, do they live up to it. Delicious hamburgers…..

Inside Lutes Casino…..

Check out the ceiling……..

Look a little closer at the ceiling…….

There’s all kinds of stuff hanging around…….

The Answer Box!!! This is the napkin dispenser on our table. No, you don’t pay for your napkins, that crossed my mind too. There plenty of napkins you can grab from the side of this gizmo. You put a penny in the slot on the top and pull the level down and it will answer any question you have. The answer comes up in that “Answer Here” window. Pretty neat toy…….

It works like a slot machine, you pull the level down and the window opens to reveal a spinning reel that stops on an answer…..it was the closes thing they had to a slot machine, so of course, I emptied the change in my pocket and nearly broke the darn thing……

Lucky we ate there when we did – look at the line waiting to get in. This many people can’t be wrong, it really is a great place to eat……The Answer box device doesn’t work on table 32 anymore so try to sit at another table when you come here, sorry…….

When we came out of Lutes Casino there was a car show going on right out side. We stay for a couple of hours looking around. Yep, got some pictures…….

This was a pretty good picture of this old truck. I tried to take a picture of this truck during the daylight but there was so many people around it looking at it. So I took it at night, then I took some of it during the daylight too and mixed it up for ya to see everything……

After we left the car show, we stopped by Paradise Casino. You knew that, did you?? We stayed at the casino from 7pm to 9pm and witness a Jackpot Winner Moment. There’s a Wheel Of Fortune quarter machine that has a bonus spin wheel on top. If you have been in a casino as much as I have lately, you already know which one I’m talking about. The maximum bet on this slot machine is 3 quarters. The guy played on it for a while and hit it. The three “Wheel Of Fortune” symbols came up with his max bet. I’m sure he’s a happy camper and $143,000 dollars richer!!

I couldn’t believe it. I was trying to think where the heck was I when he hit the jackpot and if it was really that important for me to be there instead of right here playing this stupid machine. Nooooo, I had to play the penny machine where I kept winning 50 cents at a time…..Figures…….Well, good for him, I’m happy for him, maybe he could of bought the house Margaritas! That’s what I would of done if I hit the jackpot. Everyone gets a Margarita!!!! Well….someday….anyways, I’m okay…moving on. I took pictures on what I bought in Mexico, remember I promised yesterday I would add that in today’s blog. I bought a Kokopelli bracelet which I love……..

And I bought a Kokopelli wind jacket. It’s a light jacket and I love the Kokopelli……

Remember that long walk I took with Jake this morning. We got back to the RV and while I was taking pictures of what I bought in Mexico, he was falling asleep on me……

Out like a light. Which right about now, I should be doing too. Hope you enjoyed all the pictures and tomorrow we are going to……okay, I’ll give you a hint……it’s in southern California and it’s Leonard Knight’s creation. Stay tuned……

Bienvenido a México

January 29, 2009 – 11:49pm (there are alot of pictures in this blog entry, please allow a few extra seconds for them to appear)

Hello and Welcome to Mexico! Have you ever seen snowbird season in Mexico?? Well, you are about to find out how crazy this place can be! We got to Mexico this morning and crossed that border at around 9am. Beautiful day out, perfect weather. There was five of us today visiting Mexico (we have friends in Yuma, we all went together) and we parked the car on the United States side of the border and walked thru the entrance of Mexico. No border patrol stops and you don’t need to show any identification coming into Mexico……

500 feet later, we are free to roam Mexico…..let’s find some good deals…..

We stopped here to sit outside and enjoy Margaritas and Nachos. Yummy!

From where I’m sitting you can see alot of vendors selling stuff. And there are sales people walking around the tables wanting to know if you want to buy something they have. They walk around with necklaces, hats, and other junk. Hey, I’m not insulting the stuff they are selling, they will tell you themselves, they go around saying, “Welcome to Walmart of Mexico, do you want to buy our junk”. They do have a great sense of humor and they sure will make you laugh!! Too funny……

I knew I would never remember the restuarant name, so I snapped a picture of the menu……

After our Margaritas, we are off to do some shopping…….

Oh, this guy was too funny. He actually wanted me to take his picture. After I took his picture, I walked over to him to see what he was selling. Oh, before I forget, everything, and I do mean, everything is negotiable…..if it has a price tag on it, it’s negotiable. He was selling jewelry and I saw a Kokopelli bracelet that I liked. His starting price $65 dollars. It took about 4 or 5 minute to get him down to $20 bucks. You want to hear a Mexican talk fast – just walk away. Their talking gets faster and all of a sudden they can speak great English. I told ya, they made me laugh…….

There is alot of jewelry sold around here. I’m not saying that they are good quality jewelry, but there is alot of it. I also bought a jacket while I was there. Starting price $35.00. I started to walk away from the sales girl (she was in her early 20’s in age, maybe a little younger) I said to her, “Noooo, too much.” She lightly grabbed my sleeve on my shirt and said, “You tell me how much” with that neat accent. I said, repeating myself, “Noooooo, that’s too much.” She said, “You give me price.” Oh, this one went back and forth for a minute more, I said, “$15”, she said, “$30”, I said, “$15”, she said, “20”, I said, “$15”, she said “$18”, I said, “$15”, she said “$16”. Oh boy……I took the jacket for $16. Oh, and I have to say that the back of the jacket has a picture of a Kokopelli on it…..matches my bracelet………I’ll get a picture of the bracelet and jacket tomorrow……

Alot of people come to Mexico for prescription drugs. No prescription note necessary. If you want medicine, they got what you are looking for…….

Want booze? They got it for ya……..

My dad stopped to buy some cigarettes. A carton of Marlboro in Walmart in Arizona is $44.00. Same carton of the same stuff in Mexico $19.00.

Now it’s time to leave. See the line going into the states….yikes……

We found the end of the line up around the corner. We got to the end of the line at 2:10pm……

Even while you are standing in line to cross the border, they are still trying to sell you more junk……

We have a long wait……

We are moving up in the line. This is behind us……

We are getting closer. We stood in line for 2 hours at this point……..

Well, that’s it for pictures. When we entered that tunnel ahead of us, there was three desks set up with border patrolmen checking passports and visas. It was quick for us. I really didn’t have anything on me except for minor purchases. There is a sign before you enter that tunnel saying that both passport and driver’s license is required to enter back into the states.

After we left the border, we went to Paradise Casino in Yuma, Arizona. This is the casino that sits right on the Arizona/California line. We ate dinner there and played bingo. We didn’t win anything, but the pot roast we all had at the casino restaurant was excellent. We got home tonight around 9pm. Long day!

Tomorrow we are off to the Old Yuma to check out some historic sites and eat at Lute’s. Heard that John Wayne made some movies there. I’ll bring my camera! 🙂 Good night for now.

Another Nice Normal Day In Paradise

January 28, 2009 – 10:54pm

Today was a quiet day and once again, breezy outside. We spend most of the day inside. We cooked dinner, I spent sometime on the internet and gave Jake a bath. Nice relaxing day. I wish I had more news for you, but tomorrow we are getting up at 8am and heading to Mexico at 9:30 to enjoy the afternoon there (with a few margaritas). I’ll bring my camera to get some great pictures!

But today I sorted thru my email inbox. I get a few emails from my blog readers every once in a while. Today I got three emails from my readers saying they like reading my blog. Awwww, thanks! Positive feedback is appreciated, negative feedback is deleted. LOL. I haven’t gotten any negative feedback so don’t start filling my inbox now. 🙂 Two of the emails I got today were from RV fulltimers and the third one was from someone who came across this blog thru a social media website that I use to get this blog website out to others on the internet.

I also spend some time every so often on a RV forum at www.rvforum.net. The people that on that forum are super nice and very informative. I posted a questions on there a while back about a particular destination in the mid-west and I got back over 200 responses. Everyone gave their two cents. Big help! And don’t be shy either, even if you are new to RVing or even just thinking about RVing someday in your future, they cover RVing topics of all sorts that you might be wondering about or curious about.

I’m trying to avoid talking about the economy as I see the news on TV talking about potentially cutting back the USPS routes so you get your mail five days a week instead of six. I’ll leave that hot topic alone…….

Today I received all my mail from back home. When we started this trip off in November I was debating about getting a mail forwarding service or just being a burden to someone and they can mail out my mail to me. Well, of course, instead of doing things the easy way and getting my mail forwarded to me with one of those nifty mail forwarding services, I decided to burden someone to collect my mail and every other month ship it to where I am. I mean, to me, that would be more logic……why? I don’t have many bills and I pay my cell phone bill and other bills over the phone with my debit card. So, when I got my mail today, it was either bills that were already paid or my monthly magazine subscriptions that I love. So, for the evening, I flipped thru my magazines of Trailer Life, Highways Magazine by the Good Sam Club, and the Gypsy Journal Newspaper.

That lasted me until 6:30 where I was forced to stop reading my Trailer Life magazine to go to Bingo. Hey, I can’t miss Bingo! Bingo was from 7pm to 9pm and tonight, once again, I didn’t win. But, it’s fun and I get to talk to new people that sit around us everytime my mom and I go. She does most of the yapping as I eye her Bingo card for any close Bingos she might have.

After bingo, we returned to the RV for some good TV shows and now I’m off to bed. I hope all is well with everyone and thanks to everyone who emailed me today. Stay In Touch! 🙂

Always Make Time For Friends and RVing Isn’t As Scary As It Seems

January 27, 2009 – 10:46pm

We have friends down here in Yuma. They have been at Quartzsite all week for the RV show and returned to the RV park today. One is an independent lady that you just can’t keep down. She is a hot ticket…I love her independence. She has been full timing in a RV for the past 6 years (I think), her husband passed away three years ago and she has taken over the steering wheel solo ever since. We asked her where she was off to next, her answer “Don’t know yet”, we asked her if she was coming back to Yuma next winter, her answer “Don’t know yet”, we asked her if she wanted to go spend sometime in Texas, her answer, you  know it, “Don’t know yet”. I love that, you can’t imagine how much I ate that sense independence right up. But it’s true, when you are in an RV, you have a home on wheels. You don’t like your neighbor, move. You don’t like the area (lack of shopping convenience, too much traffic, etc), move. I most likely will never own an actual normal house, I just prefer to be rolling in a condo on wheels. And I will slap that sticker on the back of that baby saying “Home is where you park it”. Some people have emailed me in the past and asked if I’m this way because I get bored easily. Sure! You can call it that. I want to see everything, everywhere. Yesterday I watched a show on TV about the Alaska Marine Highway System, you’ve got to watch the videos on their website at the bottom of their home page (a ferry system you can put your RV on and travel from Washington state to Alaska, I was on the seat’s edge thru the whole preview). I got some emails in the past saying that this life is “dangerous” and they could never cross out of their comfort zone. I answered back, “Hey, no problem, just follow along with the many other RVer’s blogs”  There are other RVer’s blogs that I follow such as my pal Nick who is a fulltimer with his wife Terry and is in Texas right now and is heading to Arizona to run his Winter RV rally! You can catch up with him at http://gypsyjournal.net/blog/. There are a handful of others I also follow such as Rex and Mary’s blog http://www.rexandmary.blogspot.com/ and Work For RVers And Campers blog http://www.work-for-rvers-and-campers.com/work-for-RVers-and-campers-blog.html. I could list 15 more RV blogs that I follow, if you are interested in reading about other RVer’s journeys, just email me at dpjake11002@aol.com and I’ll pass that list on to you. Or drop me an email to say Hello. My email inbox has been pretty quiet this week. 🙂
So what did I do today? We slept late and went to visit our friends all day. I love good company. We all made plans to go to Mexico together and go to bingo together and maybe do a day trip to California. I’ve never been to California before. We are in Yuma for another month, so we have plenty of time to cover alot of ground here in the southwest. This evening we got back home (RV = home, I love it) and watched some good TV shows tonight. We don’t normally spend alot of time in front of the TV, but that wind outside has sure picked up in the last 24 hours and tomorrow it is suppose to be “very breezy” out according to the weather on the local news channel. No swimming pool time and a quick walk for Jake. So tomorrow, we will be giving Jake a bath and I’ll be doing some hanging around the RV. I see that 2 miles away from here is a Barnes and Nobles and I have two gift cards to there from Christmas!! I love Barnes and Nobles, I could spend hours there, so if I venture outside the RV park gates tomorrow, it will be to get some neat new books to get lost in. Well, have a great night and thanks for checking on me! 🙂

Things Are Simple In Yuma, Arizona

January 26, 2009 – 9:55pm

I know I skipped a blog entry last night but putting yesterday and today into one blog entry isn’t going to be that hard. I know there are some people that read my blog everyday and some times the content in my blog entries are going to be repeated, but the point of this blog is not only to try to tell you something new everyday, but just to tell you what I’m up to, even if I do the same thing everyday, so bare with me, I will continue to post a blog entry every single day (unless I’m traveling with no access to Wi-Fi connectivity, then I’ll be cradling my laptop and crying all night about being disconnected from society) :). Hey, you go with no cell phone signal and see how long you last. Exactly! My point has been made. 🙂 Yesterday we went to a huge Flea Market in the morning, it’s actually open all day, from 8am – 4pm, but we went in the late morning and I was so happy….not because it was a huge Flea Market with alot of deals waiting to be discovered, not because there’s a food court right there with a live band playing to entertain you, but because the Flea Market here is pet friendly! So Jake came along to the Flea Market with me. He walked around next to me on a leash and met so many other puppies there. I swear there must of been 30 dogs there walking around the Flea Market and 10 of them were Malteses, that’s what I have is a Maltese. They are so easy to find, they all look the same, they are all white! Jake had his twin everywhere he looked!! So, we left there around noon (I didn’t buy anything). Then we relaxed in the RV Park all afternoon, laying out in the lawn chair. I love that. We’ve slowed down our pace alot…..more relaxing. Some people think that I’m bored here, but that’s far from the fact. I’m having a great time, I mean besides sleeping late, my eating schedule is thrown off (eating dinner at 9pm), it’s just pure relaxing. No place to be, no plans made, just do now what we feel like doing. The life of a retiree, the life of an RVer. But in between sleeping and eating, I go swimming, play bingo with the ladies, shop at Walmart (huge one too, open 24 hours), and yes, we leave the RV Park to go to the casino which we did tonight to enjoy their $9.95 buffet and I won a little bit of money ($20 bucks), and now we are watching “Masters Of Illusions” on TV back at the RV. Life is pretty simple being retired. But, if I was going to be retired permanently, I would seriously find a solid hobby to help me escape this computer sometimes. I’m on this computer way too much sometimes. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try shuffleboard. So, don’t think for once I’m bored or I’m having a miserable time. My absolute favorite part of the day is sitting outside in my lawn chair with Jake and watching people walk by in the RV park. There is really nothing better than soaking up 75 degree weather with a palm tree over my head. We are planning to go to Mexico sometime this week, we are waiting to catch up with some friends we have down here first so we can all go together. I’ll bring my camera when I go, I promise! 🙂 Have a good night!

Yuma’s Lettuce Festival

January 24, 2009 – 10:21pm

Hello! We made the most of the good weather we had today and attended the Lettuce Festival in the old part of Yuma. There’s an old Yuma and a new Yuma. Our RV Park is in the new Yuma and the old Yuma is not far from us…..probably about 3 or 4 miles, that’s it. I know this because when we left the Lettuce Festival to go back to the RV Park, I had punched in the RV Park name into our GPS to find the easiest way back and it said that it is 3.4 miles away. So, we stayed there for a while, it wasn’t that big of a festival, we stayed for a little over an hour. It was just a closed down street with vendor tents and they were selling all sorts of fresh lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, artichokes, asparagus, oh, and so much more! They had some entertainment….a one man band and kids rides. It was neat, but not really a big deal. Glad I saw it. Got some pictures for ya…..

Cocopah Casino didn’t miss out on an opportunity to flaunt their casino…..

This is a little alley way right next to the festival. Just little shops open to the public trying to make a dollar……

Well, that is what we did in the morning. In the afternoon we stayed at the RV Park and enjoyed some of their planned activities here. They had a “Jam Session”, hey, that’s what it’s called on the activities schedule here. So we went and we saw alot of the RV Park tenants playing musical instruments together. Good old time songs. It was alot of people there, a whole recreational hall full. So we stayed to enjoy the music and then I took Jake out for a walk and we just relaxed by the TV for the evening. A simple day with plenty to see. I’m not sure what we are doing tomorrow, but we are trying to avoid going to Mexico on a Sunday, that’s just a little too much “weekend people” for me. We are going to visit Mexico on Monday or Tuesday. You know what I love about living in a RV in “retirement” mode is that we don’t have a schedule to go by or anywhere to be at anytime of the day. So you have to check back tomorrow to see what we do tomorrow. Well, you don’t HAVE to, but it sure would be nice of you! Good night. Oh, if you do want to help me out, you could just take a second to answer the poll I have listed on the right side of the blog page. I haven’t gotten too many answers to this poll like I got on the last poll. Thanks, bye! 🙂

A Nice Easy Day In The RV Park

January 23, 2009 – 5:46pm

How’s everyone hold up out there? There is a plaza next door here attached to the Walmart so mom and I went for a walk to explore the plaza shops around the area today. When you walk directly from the RV Park we are staying at right into the parking lot of Walmart and then walk past the front of Walmart there are about 8 shops in the plaza right next to the Walmart. There is a Fashion Bug, a pizza place, a Subway, a Fashion 4U store, a couple other stores and then there’s a gas station at the end which we thought sold lottery tickets. A gas station that doesn’t sell lottery tickets?? I never heard of it until today. Oh well. On the way back from roaming the plaza shops we stopped at Walmart (pretty predictable, huh?) and picked up just a few things. We were looking for a fly swatter but Walmart was sold out. I wonder why, huh? Well, there are a few flys around here, I’ve seen 2 so far. Just enough to aggravate you. After we came back from Walmart, we sat outside for alittle while under a cloudy overcast. It rained last night and there is still a little puddle on the cover of the pick up truck bed. We came back in and watched TV and we are still watching TV…..the wind picked up a bit and tipped over one of our lawn chairs outside. So, I don’t have any pressing news and nothing really exciting happened today. Today starts the Lettuce Festival in Yuma…hang on, website for it is….here. So tomorrow, we are going to check that out in the morning (starts at 10am) and then enjoy some of the activities going on in the RV Park in the afternoon. I’ll get back to you then! 🙂 Nite Nite.

When in Rome…..

January 22, 2009 – 10:00pm

This is going to be short, sweet and to the point! 🙂 You know that old saying “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”. Well…..I applied that saying to my day today. This park is full of active seniors, they don’t have any place to be, and they have a grand time making the most of their day. That’s their job. They stay busy doing anything that puts a smile on their face. So, you want to know what I did today? This morning I sat outside in my lawn chair from 10am to about noon time watching people ride their bicycles by, some were walking their dog, some people even stopped by and small talked with us…..we all just relaxed outside. About noon time we drove the whole 1/2 mile down the street to the Kentucky Fried Chicken. They have a buffet with a price of $7.99, yummy! I’ve never seen a KFC that offers a buffet back home…..so we ate lunch there and came back to the RV Park and I took out my roller blades. Remember I mentioned that there was a walking track next door, well, I pulled out my roller blades and grabbed Jake’s leash. Jake beat me to the door. So Jake and I went down to the walking track next door and we did a couple of laps around the track. Jake has got to get into better shape than he is, he’s turned so lazy since we left (okay, okay, I’ll admit it, maybe I have too *big smile*). The fresh air and exercise was good for him. Back at the RV again, we took about 50 oranges that we had picked yesterday and made a gallon of pure fresh orange juice. I love that little electic juicer, that alone makes life easier. It didn’t take long to make a gallon of orange juice, just about 20 minutes. After that was done and we found a place for it in the refrigerator, we put on our bathing suits and headed over to the pool for a swim around 6pm. I don’t swim, I don’t how to swim, so the 3 foot deep section was perfect for me. I’m sure Jake appreciated the peace and quiet to get some shut eye in the RV. We stayed in the pool for about 45 minutes. After that we came back to the RV, cleaned up and changed and took off to the Cocopah Casino. The Cocopah Casino is 7 miles from this RV Park. At the Cocopah Casino, my $45 dollars turned into $123.00. I’m not kidding, I couldn’t believe it either! Woo-Hoo! Just before we left the casino we took advantage of their dessert buffet for a steal of $3.00. Three bucks, can you believe it? 1-2-3….Three bucks for all the dessert you can eat. Hey, seniors count their pennies and I’m learning from everyone here. I’m all over a good deal when I see one! Hey, you haven’t see anything yet, wait until we hit the flea market this weekend…..when I find a good deal, get out of my way! 🙂 And I realized one more thing from today…..I’m going to have to spend more time in the pool if I’m going to hang out at buffets all day *smile*. Well, we just returned from the casino and we are now watching “The Man” on TV. That’s a oldie but goodie movie, maybe that’s why it’s taking so long for me to finish this blog posting. I’m kinda distracted with the movie. Hee Hee. So we had an eventful day today and you know something……I think I’m going to do the exact same thing tomorrow! 🙂

We Are Living Healthy

January 21, 2009 – 9:02pm

I like this! We are living healthy!! Today we went out to pick our own fruit. This “fruit farm” (I guess that’s what you would call it) has grapefruit trees, orange trees, and lemon trees. It didn’t take us long to pick alot of oranges, we picked between 90 and 100 oranges today and it cost us $10 dollars! Can you believe it, only TEN BUCKS!! We are saving money and living healthy. So, I bet you are wondering what we are going to do with 100 oranges, huh? Fresh orange juice?? Yep, you know it! 🙂 Let’s take a peek at some snapshots I got today……….

This fruit farm is 3 miles from our RV Park………

Not too sure why this sign is here outside the fruit farm……

Look at all the oranges to pick! We’ve got some work to do……

See the ladder?? Remember the sign outside the fruit farm. Ahhhhhh, I see the connection now…….

We came home with three of these bags………

We’ve got our work cut out for us. I’m sure it’s going to be soooo worth it!

This is what Jake did the whole time we were making orange juice. If it has nothing to do with solid food, he’s not interested……..

That’s what we did today. The whole process from picking the fruit to creating a jug full of fresh orange juice took about…..maybe a little over an hour. It was so easy and quick to pick the fruit and did you see the electric cord attached to the juicer. 🙂 It was so quick. We picked up the electric juicer at the Quartzsite RV Show for 10 bucks. Hey, we are saving money here. I like saving money. So other than that, most of the day was filled with sitting outside in our lawn chairs and watching people ride their bicycles by and we finished the day off with attending the bingo game at 7pm at the recreational hall here at the RV Park. I could get use to this. I hope everyone is well and safe……stay warm……I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Thanks for checking on me again! 🙂

A Trip To Quartzsite And A Tour Around Our RV Park

Hey There! What great weather we are having here. I heard back home in New Hampshire it reached an all time low of 22 below. I’m still keeping an eye on ya back home! Today it reached 81 degrees so we took the day to visit Quartzsite’s RV Tradeshow. Got some pictures for ya………..

Quartzsite, Arizona is exactly 80 miles north of Yuma, Arizona. We had to pass an insection patrol station (????) to get to Quartzsite. Maybe a fruit inspection station, don’t know. They didn’t stop us, they just waved us through…….

9 miles south of Quartzsite and we start to see alot of RVers dry camping………

Alot of RVers hanging out dry camping………

More RVs settle in. We are still 5 miles south of Quartzsite……

We made it!! It’s one week, once a year…….The Quartzsite Sports, Vacation, & RV Show…..

Okay, I admit it, I bought a pair for 3 dollars. They say that they are comfortable (I bought blue ones)…….

We parked the pick up truck and walked around. RVs are still coming in…….

If I EVER had a bird house, or a measly little reason to have a bird house, THIS is the one that I would have. No Doubt!! “Come on in little birdies, it’s Jackpot City and every little birdie is a winner!!!!!” Too Cool. *big smile*

Lots of deals for RV shoppers!!!

The new Keystone Outback loft. WOW!! Pretty neat…..

Inside the Keystone Outback Loft…….

Inside the Loft section. I might just have to pick up one of these to have Grade A seats at a NASCAR race! What do you think???

I just added some more pictures below of the Quartzsite RV Show…….

This RV show is extremely pet-friendly. Don’t be shy to bring your best buddy to the show! 🙂

If this guy doesn’t buy this, I will. Too neat……

Tents full of goodies……..

Well, that’s it for the pictures of the Quartzsite RV Show. A great place to pick up some cheap good stuff. After the RV Show we came right back to the RV Park that we are staying at, I put on my new fur-lined crocs, and I took Jake for a walk. Pretty comfy shoes. While walking Jake around the RV Park, I snapped some pictures of where we are staying. Okay, I’m not 55 years old…..yet. 🙂

Right next to our RV Park there is a walk way, probably 1/2 mile around that they encourage people to walk their dogs.

Jake found a friend, his name is Buddy. They got along great!

People are always visiting each other. Everyone is very friendly. I haven’t found anyone that didn’t say Hi to me.

I had to get a picture of this. I want that golf cart. Wait a minute, that’s not a golf cart…..

That’s a Rolls Royce!  Nice…….

Oh, I got to tell ya this real quick. This morning I woke up at 8am to people working right next to our RV. They were pouring the foundation to a slab for a mobile home. Now, follow me on this one…..To back that RV in that spot of ours (see our palm tree), my dad had to cross that next door property by four feet. This RV Park is completely full and we really wanted to stay here. So my dad wiggled that Montana in that little spot. This morning, my dad went over to visit the park manager and the people who were working on that site and told them that he will be crossing that cement slab by four feet to get out of his spot. The people working said that the cement slab will be fine and will not crack. Yeah right, we’ll find out in 6 weeks. I WILL be out there with my camera when we leave this RV Park….

Well, that’s all the news of the day! Tomorrow we are going out to pick fresh oranges at an orange tree farm. Today at the Quartzsite RV Show we bought an electric juicer for our fresh oranges tomorrow. Yummy, fresh orange juice. Big difference than store bought stuff. RVers of the south are so healthy! I’ll get pictures for you tomorrow. Have a good night.
