Country Junction USA

Feb 4, 2009 – 11:32pm

Wow, what an evening we had. An absolutely fantastic time and I’ve got to give all the credit to a spectacular show called Country Junction USA!! This is a country music and dinner show. Jack Jackson and Armand Pelletier (from Calgary Alberta) are the headliners and what a duet! Jack plays the guitar and sings and Armand is fluent on the fiddle and the electric guitar.

They perform concerts at alot of the fairs in Canada and come down to Arizona in the winter. The show starts at 5:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and for dinner tonight they served Beef Brisket…yummy. This show is in Wellton, Arizona, 20 minutes east of Yuma. OH, pictures….got them…….

The show doesn’t start until 5:30pm, so we got there a little too early and waited outside until they opened the doors. So I just started snapping some pictures outside. We really didn’t know what we got ourselves into. I mean, when you see a big garage type building, you don’t know what they are up to inside. This was not heavily advertised and everyone there (all 53 people) have never been to this show before. Skeptical? Ohhhh yeah…..

Just snapping some more pictures around the area waiting to go inside the show……

Okay we went inside and the inside of this place is set up so neat…….

And Jack and Armand came on stage and Armand drew that fiddle bow across those strings, he just caught everyone’s attention right there and then. WOW, he can play!!!! So much talent. They played alot of Classic Country (my favorite music). They played music from Charlie Pride, Chet Atkins, Randy Travis and many other well known artists. Jack Jackson is a very good singer and guitar player. Armand held our attention with “Orange Blossom Special” and ended the night with “The Devil went down to Georgia”……..

I grabbed a brochure to show you. I definitely recommend this entertaining music and dinner show to anyone that is staying near Yuma or Wellton……definitely worth the money……

This show is only Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and they are only here until the end of March. They do have a special event coming up on March 6, 7, and 8 called “The Pioneers and Legends”, I’m sure it’s going to be great! And then they already have their Christmas Show lined up for 2009 called, “Michael Martin Murphy Cowboy Christmas”

Well, that’s what we did today. Before the show today, all we did was spent some quality time in the lawn chair in the 77 degree weather. Tomorrow night we have tickets to go to the Elvis Presley Expo for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Remember I was saying earlier this year that I couldn’t find any Elvis Presley impersonators in Las Vegas, well, I found them all here in Yuma, Arizona at the Elvis Presley Expo. I’ll grab some pictures and let you know how it goes. Have  a good night!
