Elvis Expo Continues….

Hi. I had a great day today. I slept a little late today (of course on purpose *smile*) and this afternoon we enjoyed lunch at the Golden Corral. It’s a buffet restaurant. Not bad, it’s okay. Then we headed over to the Cocopah Casino to watch the Elvis Presley Expo here in Yuma Arizona. I’m going back tomorrow to watch the rest of the Elvis competition. They’ve brought in Elvis from everywhere. Some sang great and some were, well, just okay. I’m a bit tired so I’ll keep this short and give you some pictures…..

This is before the competition started. It was so nice outside, right around 70 degree and when the sun went down, it turned cold out…..

I found where all the Elvis’s were hiding waiting their turn…….

This one caught my eye. Heeeeellllllooooooo Baby………

Still waiting to get ready for the show to starting. I’m just moseying around…..

My dad bought my mom an Elvis necklace that blinks all kinds of colors….

This is the Elvis that won last year’s competition. He’s very good, very young (19 years old), and he caught my eye too if you know what I mean……

Helllllloooo Elvis…… 🙂

I’d like to believe he was singing just to me! Hee hee. This event is so much fun. Tomorrow we are going to enjoy the day at Cocopah Casino and finish up the Elvis Presley Expo event! There will be eliminations all day tomorrow and a couple of intermissions. The intermissions will let me sneak inside the casino for some slot machine action!! It’s late, I’m off to bed. I’ll have more info on Elvis-sightings tomorrow! 🙂 Have a great day!

You’re Still What Living Means To Me……

Hello! I did a blog for yesterday. You can scroll down and see it. This blog here is just an after thought that I wanted to share with you all. It’ll be short and to the point, I promise. I checked the odometer today in the pick up truck, this morning and it read 6,061. That’s 6,061 miles covered since we left New Hampshire. That’s 6,061 miles covered since we left the day before Thanksgiving. Today I sit in Arizona until February 19th. The day we get these wheels turning again to explore another part of this beautiful country. From small towns and southern hospitality to 80 acres of fields that I watch farmers run their tractor over everyday, I’ve seen a big chunk of America. Very often I’m at a loss for words and really don’t know how to describe everything that I’ve seen. I can’t find the words to describe the life of a person that has seen the entire southern part of America in a four month trip. So, I came across today what would put this whole journey into perspective. Give me five minute of your time and I know you will enjoy this as much as I did when I found it today. Oh, turn your volume up a little too. Click Here (it will open a new window on your screen). This RV trip will mean just as much to me come the next sun rise as it did yesterday. Have a great day.

Elvis Presley Expo at the Cocopah Casino

Feb 6 2009 – 11:55pm

Hi! Late one tonight. We just got back from the Elvis Presley Expo they are having here at the Cocopah Casino in Yuma, Arizona. It’s a three day weekend of Elvis Presley karaoke and a contest of the best Elvis. It was alot of fun tonight. Got some pictures……

The show tonight was from 8pm to midnight and before the show started they were selling some Elvis trinkets…..

I bought an Elvis postcard for 10 cents…..

The Elvis Presley Expo is at the Cocopah Casino…..(still waiting for the show to start)….

So as you can see it is set up like one big conference room and there is karaoke tonight. Friday and Saturday is the Elvis competition night. I will be going to that……

Alot of Elvis impersonators were passing out their business cards…….

This is the kid (I think he’s 18 or 19 years old) that won this competition last year. He sang very good……

More contestants……

I won a raffle……So neat…..

I think I might of lost my mom to Elvis……boy, was he sweet talking singing to her…….She was skeptical about letting me put this picture on my blog but I told her “too bad”, I think it’s a perfect picture……and don’t let her lie to you either, she was definitely blushing……OH, remember the business card before? Yep, this is him…..

Elvis drives in style…….

So that’s how our night went. It was alot of fun and I had a great time. Tomorrow we are leaving at around 3 o’clock-ish and we are all going out to eat and then off to the Elvis Presley competition from 6pm to 9pm. I’ll get more pictures for you. Have a great day!
